AEG Macaron hop-up bucking, 70°, Blue, Maple Leaf

High-quality Maple Leaf Macaron hop-up bucking with a hardness of 70° (blue), designed for AEG electric airsoft guns. This variant is particularly suitable for replicas with a muzzle velocity of approximately 110–140 m/s (360–460 FPS). The specially shaped triangular contact surface ensures a stable hop-up effect and contributes to better accuracy and consistency in shooting. The rubber band features grooves around its circumference that improve the seal against the inner barrel and in the hop-up chamber. The result is more efficient use of air and more stable performance of the replica. For maximum downforce, it is necessary to use the special Maple Leaf OMEGA roller (included in the accessories).

Maple Leaf offers Macaron rubber bands in several hardness levels for different gun performance levels:
Green 50° for muzzle velocities up to 110 m/s (360 fps)
Yellow 60° for muzzle velocities of 90–120 m/s (295–390 fps)
Blue 70° for muzzle velocities of 110–140 m/s (360–460 fps)
Pink 75° for muzzle velocities of 130–150 m/s (430–490 fps)
Black 80° for muzzle velocities above 150 m/s (490 fps)

The table above is for reference only. The appropriate hardness of a hop-up bucking always depends on a combination of muzzle velocity, projectile weight, and specific conditions of use. Basic physical principles apply: a harder bucking has less adhesion than a softer one, but at the same time exhibits less wear and a longer service life. A softer rubber, on the other hand, provides greater adhesion and typically requires less pressure to achieve the desired hop-up effect than a harder rubber. Increasing hop-up pressure simultaneously reduces the projectile’s muzzle velocity. It is also necessary to account for the effect of temperature—as temperature decreases, materials harden, and therefore the behavior of the hop-up buckings in cold weather may differ from that at room temperature.
